If you have seen my About Page, you hopefully know a little more about what you will find on my blog. I wanted to share with you why I began my blog though and what inspired me to even start research about blogging.
In June 2014, within two weeks I was married, on my honeymoon, moved to a new state, and looking for a new job. It was a lot of change in a short time period. I didn’t even know where the grocery store was when we pulled up to our little one bedroom apartment.
I also didn’t know that making completely new friendships in a place where you know no one, takes a long time, and is more discouraging than I thought! In the midst of all the change and new responsibilities, I also felt like I had no friends. And boy did I realize how much I missed going out to coffee with a great girlfriend just to chat, but also to ask advice on simple things like cooking dinner.
One evening, while perusing Facebook, I saw a link to my college friend’s blog. It was titled Titus2Minutes. I love allitterations (hence the name of my blog) and had always looked up to her. As I clicked on the link and scrolled through her different posts, I was so encouraged. Her posts were short, simple, easy to read. I felt like most of her posts had been written specifically for me. It encouraged me with this new time in my life, reminded me that my house does not have to be “pinterest-perfect”, and challenged me to pursue God, instead of struggle through everything on my own (and failing) strength.
I realized, that I too wanted to encourage others by being honest about my own life, and focused on the right things. I wanted to share Courtney’s encouraging blog posts with others. I wanted to share awesome books I have read. I wanted to share the sermon that I had the chance to listen to on Sunday.
So, I sat down for a week or two…looked into how to set up a blog…and wrote this.
I hope that my blog will be encouraging to whoever stumbles across it (especially those who have not been out to coffee with their girlfriends in a while) and I am so excited to have a place to share share-worthy life lessons!
